Cookie Policy
Effective date: pending counsel review
1. What this covers
This Cookie Policy explains how shiponline.app uses cookies and similar technologies, what categories of cookies are used, and what choices you have. It supplements our Privacy Policy. Counsel will finalise this language before launch.
2. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. We use first-party cookies - set by shiponline.app itself - for sign-in sessions, CSRF protection, and remembering interface preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
3. Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary: required for the service to function (sign-in session token, CSRF token, persistent-login preference). Functional: remember the filters you applied to the dashboard, the date-range you last picked on reporting, and similar interface state. Analytics: aggregate usage data for product improvement; no individual tracking.
4. How to control cookies
Most browsers let you delete cookies and refuse to accept new ones - usually under Settings → Privacy. Disabling strictly-necessary cookies will break sign-in and most app features. Disabling functional or analytics cookies is fine and won't impact core functionality.
5. Consent (EU / UK / EEA visitors)
If you visit from a jurisdiction that requires explicit cookie consent under GDPR or PECR, a banner will appear on your first visit asking you to accept functional and analytics cookies. Strictly-necessary cookies don't require consent and are set regardless. Counsel will draft the final consent banner copy and behaviour before launch - per the Phase 8 compliance review this is a hard launch blocker for any EU traffic.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our cookie usage evolves. Substantive changes will be announced in-app and via email at least 30 days before they take effect.
7. Contact
Questions about cookies can be sent to privacy@shiponline.app. The final contact channel will be confirmed by counsel.
