Pricing & billing

  • How does pricing work?
    You pay one flat platform fee per label on top of the discounted carrier rate. The fee depends on the service tier - $0.99 for standard ground, $1.49 for express, $2.99 for overnight, and $2.99 plus 3% of the carrier rate for international shipments. What you see at checkout is the all-in price.
  • Are there any monthly minimums or contracts?
    No. You ship, you pay. You don't, you don't. There's no monthly fee, no annual contract, and no per-seat charge.
  • Which payment methods can I use?
    Any major credit or debit card via Stripe. We don't support PayPal, ACH, or wire transfers at this time. Cards are charged automatically at the moment a label is purchased.
  • Do you offer a shipping credit balance?
    Yes - voided labels are credited automatically to a shipping balance you can see on the Billing page. Today the balance is informational only; automatic apply-at-checkout is rolling out soon. Cash refunds are available on request within 30 days of purchase.

Carriers & rates

  • Which carriers are supported?
    USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Rates are fetched live from each carrier on every label, so what you see is what the carrier charges that minute.
  • Are the discounted rates real?
    Yes. We pass the negotiated commercial rates from each carrier straight through - no markup on the carrier rate itself, just the flat platform fee on top.
  • Can I pick a specific service like UPS Next Day Air Saver?
    Yes. After entering a recipient and package, you'll see every eligible rate sorted by price with the cheapest and fastest options badged. Pick whichever matches your delivery promise.
  • Do you support insurance and signature confirmation?
    Yes - both as optional add-ons on the buy step. Insurance is the carrier's declared-value protection; signature confirmation can be standard or adult-required. Both are billed by the carrier separately based on the value and service.

Labels & shipments

  • How fast is the create-label flow?
    Under a minute for a single label once your address book has the recipient saved. The first label takes a touch longer because you're entering everything fresh.
  • Can I bulk-import labels from a spreadsheet?
    Yes. Drop a CSV on the CSV import page; we'll guess your column mapping, you confirm + pick a ship-from address, and we'll fan out one label per row. Per-row errors don't block the rest of the batch.
  • How does address verification work?
    As you type the street, we look up matching addresses (Google Places when configured). On submit, we ask the carrier to verify the address and offer to apply any standardized changes - case fixes, ZIP+4 appended, abbreviations - so deliverability is highest the first time.
  • Can I void a label?
    Yes - every purchased label has a Void button on its order page. The carrier confirms the void within a day and the refund lands on your shipping credit balance automatically.

Tracking & delivery

  • When do tracking events show up?
    As soon as the carrier scans the package. We receive a webhook from each scan and append it to the order's timeline within seconds.
  • Do recipients get delivery emails?
    You do - by default we email you a delivery confirmation when each package is marked delivered, plus an exception alert if there's a problem. Recipient-facing email is on the roadmap.
  • What happens if a package is lost or damaged?
    If you added carrier insurance at checkout, file a claim through the carrier (we link to each carrier's claim portal from the order detail page). If you didn't, the carrier's standard limited liability applies - usually around $100 for USPS Ground Advantage and varies for the others.
  • Can I change my notification preferences?
    Yes - toggle them on the Notifications settings page. Changes apply immediately, even to packages already in flight.

Account & security

  • How are my payment details secured?
    Cards are stored by Stripe, never by us. We only see the last 4 digits + brand for display. All in-transit data is TLS-encrypted.
  • Can I export my order history?
    Per-shipment export is coming soon. For now, every purchased label has a permanent order page you can bookmark or share via a private link.
  • How do I delete my account?
    Email support@shiponline.app and we'll close your account + wipe stored shipment data within 7 days. Any open carrier balance is settled in cash.
  • Is there a test mode I can use without real charges?
    Yes - set the EasyPost test API key in your environment and Stripe's test keys to play with the whole flow without spending real money. Test labels return stub tracking codes; carrier APIs accept them but no money moves.
